Frank Tannis With much sadness we announce that Dad has passed away on Thursday, April 29th, 2008 at his home in Ottawa. Son of the late Mikhail and Karime Tannous Nesrallah. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Toufiek, Maria, Jamileh, Camilla, Elias (Veteran WWII) and George. Born in Kfarmishky, Lebanon on April 24th, 1924. Dad moved to Ottawa as a young boy and remained there for the rest of his life. The youngest son of the family, Dad was known for his mischievous humour and stubbornness. With age though, Dad became more thoughtful and caring with his family. He will be lovingly missed by his partner of many years, Margaret Mitchell. (Starwood Nursing Home). Dad will also be missed and remembered by his four daughters: Geraldine Van Gyn (Frank Van Gyn), Victoria B.C., Karima Alpern (Howard Alpern) Colorado Springs, Co., Eleanor Matheson (Paul Cooper), Victoria B.C., Paula Platt (Nate McBride) Denver Co., his grandchildren: Jill, Lindsay, Robin, Cody, James, Jeremy, Keely, Alex, Kenny and Mackenzie who will always remember his fun loving ways. Margaret's daughters and sons, Malcolm, Jack, Heather and Kelly will also remember him fondly. Visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411Hunt Club Rd. at Albion Rd., on Sunday May 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral. Patricia Tannis (nee Zarbatany) Peacefully went to her Lord in her sleep October 10, 2006 in her 91st year. Widow of the late George Tannis. Beloved mother of Mitchell (Nadine) of Vancouver, Ralph and Jeannette of Kingston, and Ernie (Youmna) of Ottawa. Daughter of the late Very Reverend Economos Michael Zarbatany, St. Nicholas Church, Montreal, and the late Marie Attabe Zarbatany. Predeceased by nine siblings, survived by three. Leaving nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A Mass was held in memory of Tedy Salim Tedy Sunday April 22, 2007 at 6:30 pm. in St. Charbel Maronite Catholic Church, 245 Donald Street, Ottawa. Passed away peacefully in Lebanon after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday April 16 2007 age 80. Beloved husband of Nadia Lteif. Loving father of Robert (Jamile Helou), Gassoub (Claude Rizallah), Salim (Cesa Khalatian), Henriette and Rima . Tedy is survived by many grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his sister Helene (Joseph Abs ) and many cousins and relatives in Lebanon and by the families of Lteif, Abs, Helou, Rizallah and Khalatian. Najla El Rassi Tohme On Tuesday June 29, 2010, our adored mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully. Throughout her lifetime she blessed us with her wisdom, light and deepest love imaginable. Najla was the devoted mother of Saad (Samia), Sami (Dounia), Sahim (Mrs. Jamil Nahra), Najat (Mrs. David Nassrallah) and Hiyam (Mrs. Farid Kayal). Sister of the late Elias El Rassi and Fadwa Jarawan (Boutros). Her passing is deeply mourned and felt profoundly by her family and many wonderful friends. The family will receive friends at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Dr. on Saturday July 3, 2010 after 10 am. A funeral service will be held at 11 am at the church.
