2012 Youth In Policing Initiative

For the sixth year, the Ottawa Police Service will be running the Youth In Policing Initiative (YIPI) Program.

YIPI is an eight week summer employment program for youth 14-17 years of age (on July 3rd, 2012) attending a secondary school program (2011-2012) and returning to a secondary school program (2012-2013). This unique opportunity will provide the youth with valuable work-experience and training in a police and community work environment. The youth can also earn credits towards their high school diploma.

The program is funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and designed for youth who may be facing barriers to success for a variety of reasons but who are work-ready.

Please consider promoting the program and if you are endorsing an applicant please ask the applicant to make note in their letter of interest when they apply. Please understand there is limited space and not all applicants can be placed in the program.

Information on the YIPI Program and application process can be found at: www.ottawapolice.ca/en/community/teenlounge/yipi.aspx
